Chris Daughtry Releasing Charity Single Benefiting Africa Anti-Hunger Campaign
Michael Becker/FOXChris Daughtry has re-recorded a song from his current album, Break the Spell, as part of his involvement in a new charity campaign.
The Hollywood Reporter says Daughtry will release an acoustic version of "Rescue Me" on iTunes "in the coming weeks," with all proceeds benefiting DC Entertainment's We Can Be Heroes. The campaign aims to fight hunger in Africa.
A formal announcement was expected at a special performance by Chris Daughtry in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Daughtry tells The Hollywood Reporter that "Rescue Me" "was written about feeling like you needed to be rescued from something. It felt like a great message for what’s going in the Horn of Africa....We just thought it would be a good idea to do a more stripped down, less bombastic version of it.”
