Creed Frontman Scott Stapp Says Writing Sinner’s Creed Was a “Journey of Self-Discovery”

Scott Legato/Getty ImagesIn October, Creed fans will be able to get their hands on a new tell-all autobiography from frontman Scott Stapp, titled Sinner’s Creed.

In an interview with ABC News Radio, Stapp says that he chose to write the book so that he could experience his life from a different perspective. “I began writing this initially as a journey of self-discovery and seeking to look at my life and my experience up to this point,” explains the singer.  “[The book] let me look at this from both sides and re-live my life on paper.” Stapp added that he promises to share everything about his life in new book because “candy-coating or sugar-coating wouldn’t work.”

“I just shoot from the core and wanna be as honest as I can possibly be and it’s how I write songs, it’s how I write music,” reveals Stapp.  “It’s a double-edged sword.  In life it’s been one of my greatest strengths but also something that’s hurt me.  It’s the point at which my art and creation comes from.”

In addition, the singer says that writing the book was therapeutic for him.  “It was really healthy and really gave me a fresh perspective and an inspiration to take what I discovered in writing this book and continue to apply it dutifully and knowingly in my life,” he notes.  “I’m excited to share this story in the no-holds-barred truth of my life in Creed and from my perspective.”

Sinner’s Creed is set to hit stores on October 2.
