Nobody is confirming anything, but the New York Daily News reports that Barbra Streisand may be making a live appearance this fall in her own stomping grounds of Brooklyn, New York. The paper notes that the last time Streisand performed in her home borough, she was singing in the chorus of Erasmus Hall High School, where one of her classmates was Neil Diamond.
The so-called proof that La Streisand will be giving a concert in Brooklyn is the fact that her name was listed on Ticketmaster's website as one of the upcoming performers at the Barclays Center arena, a new Brooklyn venue that is currently under construction and when completed will be the new home of the Brooklyn Nets basketball team.
A spokesman for the Nets refused to comment and Streisand's name was later removed from Ticketmaster, but team CEO Brett Yormark wrote on Twitter, "Big announcement this week re the barclays center. I mean big. Very exciting times for brooklyn.”
Streisand's spokesperson told the The New York Times, "I cannot confirm anything, on the record, off the record, between the record."
Streisand's last major tour wrapped in 2007.
