Metallica's Orion + More Festival to Include Film Festival Tent
Warner Bros. RecordsNew details have surfaced about Metallica’s new annual music, arts and lifestyle festival called Orion Music + More. In a recent online video interview, drummer Lars Ulrich revealed that there will be a film festival that will take place in a tent during the event.
The film tent, titled Hit the Lights, will showcase some of Ulrich’s favorite movies including 2010’s Blue Valentine, and the recently-released documentary Mission to Lars, which documents the journey of an autistic fan’s quest to meet the drummer. The directors of both films will on hand to host Q&A sessions.
Other movies showing in the Hit the Lights tent include Before the Wall: Body & Being, a film by Ulrich’s dad, Torben, and the HBO film Hemingway & Gellhorn, in which the drummer portrays Dutch documentarian Joris Ivens.
In addition to showing the movies, Ulrich will personally introduce each film and discuss what he loves about them with those who attend the screenings.
The inaugural Orion Music + More festival will make its debut June 23-24 at Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ. For more details, head over to OrionMusicAndMore.com.
