OMG Girlz Dish on the Kind of Guys They're Looking For
OMGGirlz.com/FacebookWith shows to do, and songs to record, the OMG Girlz don't have time for serious relationships. But as 17-year-old Babydoll tells ABC News Radio, she and her groupmates, 15-year-old Beauty and 16-year-old Star, make room in their busy schedules for guy friends, and the occasional crush. On the trio's latest single, "Where the Boys At?," the Girlz "wanna meet somebody," and they tell ABC News Radio, just who might catch their eye.
For Beauty, confidence is what grabs her attention. "I kind of like people for people," she adds. "Looking good is a plus, but...if you look good, but you're a really mean person...then it just makes you not attractive to me."
The Girlz appreciate intelligence, too. Even when they're on the road, the ladies keep up with their schoolwork online. When it comes to finding a guy who has "his swag right," as they say on their latest single, Babydoll says she likes guys who know what's happening in the world, and can hold up their end of a good conversation. "He has to be smart," she says. "Know what you want. Don't sit around."
"If you're failing math, then we can't talk to you," Beauty chimes in, "because you don't know how to count money."
For their upcoming "Where the Boys At?" music video, the OMG Girlz teamed up with director Bryan Barber to pull off a fun, summer vibe. That meant lots of bright colors. From the Girlz's purple, blue and pink hair, to their candy-colored lipstick, and rainbow-patterned shoelaces, the "Where the Boyz At?" video shows off the group's signature style.
So, in addition to confidence and intelligence, Star says she appreciates a guy who has a little style, too. "Shoes are a big thing for boys, with me...If your shoes, if they're nice, and your outfit, it's alright...then I'm like, 'oh, he got some fly sneaks. -- So what's your name?,'" Star says, laughing. "I'm kidding... "
The OMG Girlz say their "Where the Boys At?" music video will be out soon. For now, fans can download the single, and check out a behind-the-scenes clip from the "Where the Boys At?" video set, where Star's mom, Tiny, and stepdad, T.I., coach the trio from the sidelines. The OMG Girlz's debut album is due out this fall.
