Dierks Bentley's Father Dies

Capitol NashvilleCondolences to Dierks Bentley, whose father, Leon Bentley, passed away Friday at age 88. He tweeted the news to fans Saturday morning along with a picture of Dierks holding his father's hand. The caption reads, "It was an honor to comfort him as he left us."

Dierks was forced to cancel his Saturday night performance after the Washington Nationals baseball game because of his father's passing. He tweeted, "Thank you fans for the time and understanding."

Dierks has postponed his fan club party in Nashville Wednesday as well due to his father's death.

Dierks' father served in the military in World War II and was partly responsible for inspiring his latest #1 hit "Home."
