Robert Plant and His New Backing Band Schedule Another US Concert in August
RobertPlant.comRobert Plant has scheduled another U.S. concert with his recently formed group the Sensational Space Shifters that will be one of only two shows he plans to play in the States all summer. The Led Zeppelin singer and his new outfit will perform August 12 at the Historic Alabama Theatre in Birmingham, Alabama. The concert will take place a day after Plant and the Sensational Shape Shifters previously announced headlining set at the Sunflower River Blues & Gospel Festival in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
The Sensational Space Shifters' lineup includes Plant's Band of Joy group mate Patty Griffin, Gambian musician Juldeh Camara and several members of Plant's old backing band The Strange Sensation -- guitarists Justin Adams and Liam "Skin" Tyson, bassist Billy Fuller and keyboardist John Baggott.
Plant and the group currently have only two other shows on their itinerary, both of them in England. On July 12, they'll play at the HMV Forum in London, and on July 27 they'll perform at the 2012 Womad U.K. Festival in Malmesbury.
