After a year of searching for a new producer, The Band Perry is hard at work on their sophomore album with famed music man Rick Rubin. He's produced projects by everyone from Johnny Cash and the Dixie Chicks to Jay-Z and Adele. The Perry siblings went out a limb and got a meeting with Rick, and he agreed to work with them on the new project that very day.
Lead singer Kimberly Perry says, "He's been part therapist and part producer. He's been really, really wonderful helping us through all the sophomore jitters."
Kimberly's brother Reid adds, "There's the therapist in him that's really put our minds at ease, and we're able to kind of buckle down and really focus on this."
The band has been working hard to make sure their second album measures up to the platinum success of their self-titled debut project.
"The three of us are very goal-oriented too, so we want to outdo ourselves time and time again and just work hard to bring the best music that we can," Kimberly says.
The final single from The Band Perry's debut album, "Postcard from Paris," is still making its way up the country chart.
