Vote for Your Favorite Music Moments of 2012 -- So Far -- in "Billboard"'s Mid-Year Music Awards
Kevin Mazur/WireImageThe first half of 2012 will officially be over in about two weeks, and there have certainly been a lot of interesting musical developments in the past six months. Which ones were the most memorable? Billboard wants to know what you think.
The publication is asking fans to vote online for its Mid-Year Music Awards, to determine the biggest musical milestones of 2012...so far. You can vote for music's all-around MVP of the first half of the year, plus your favorite #1 album, best comeback, most memorable feud and 10 other categories.
Madonna is among the artists receiving the most attention in the poll. The pop diva is listed in six of the categories, including MVP of 2012; Favorite #1 album, for her latest release, MDNA; Best Televised Performance, for her halftime set at this year's Super Bowl; and Most Overrated Artist.
Bruce Springsteen's Wrecking Ball also is a Favorite #1 album candidate, while the Boss' tour in support of the record is up for Best Tour honors.
Nominees for best comeback of 2012 so far include Lionel Richie, who scored a #1 album with Tuskegee, and The Beach Boys, who've reunited for a 50th anniversary tour.
As for the most shocking moment in music of 2012, we're not sure anything can beat one particular nominee: Whitney Houston's death.
In addition to picking from the listed nominees, you can write in your own choice in each category. Vote now at Billboard.com, and all the winners will be announced at the end of next week.
