Lady Antebellum's new single "Wanted You More" is special to the group since they wrote it on the road with their touring band. The guys were just noodling around when the riff for the song popped out.
Band member Charles Kelley says, "We started kind of coming up with this melody, and after sound check, we went back into the dressing room and wrote this song."
The lyrics of "Wanted You More" talk about moving on from someone who doesn't love you as much as you love them. Charles sees it as the next chapter of their biggest hit, "Need You Now."
"It's like you're past that and one of the lines is "I don't need you anymore," Charles explains. "So, I think that's one thing that's kind of cool."
Charles' band mate Hillary Scott gets emotional singing "Wanted You More" onstage every night on the Own the Night tour. She says, "I think everybody, whether we want to admit it or not, have been in a place where we cared about the other person more than they cared about us, and I think it's a very vulnerable thing to admit and sing about."
Lady Antebellum has posted a behind-the-scenes look of their "Wanted You More" video at Vevo.com. The clip will premiere soon.
