Stars are entitled to clean dressing rooms when they go on tour, but this is ridiculous. The British tabloid The Daily Mirror reports that Madonna has a "sterilization team" that enters her dressing room after she's done with it and removes any trace of her DNA -- just in case, we suppose, some crazy fan wants to clone her.
Madonna performed in Portugal on Sunday night, and the show's promoter, Álvaro Ramos, was quoted by the Mirror as saying, "We have to take extreme care, like I have never seen for any other artist. We cannot even look at the dressing room, after it is ready, or even open the door. We can only enter after her sterilization team has left the room. There will not be any of Madonna’s DNA, any hair, or anything."
He adds that all these precautions are taken to make the star "feel comfortable," and says, "I do understand it, but it is taken to extremes.”
Ramos also noted that for the Portuguese gig, Madonna had her team "build everything for her, including fake ceilings and fake walls" in her dressing room, in order to sure that "no one has a hidden camera somewhere."
So assuming that Ramos is telling the truth, is Madonna just paranoid, or enjoying her standing as one of the biggest superstars in the world? A source close to Madonna tells the Mirror, "She is a perfectionist, and expects the best. But then, at her age and with her status, why shouldn’t she?”
