Gary Allan Describes New Album as "Super Rock, Super Up"

MCA NashvilleGary Allan has recorded 15 songs for his next studio album, his first release since 2010's Get Off on the Pain. He describes the new music as "super rock, super up."

"It seems like a lot of the stuff I was writing this year was just up and hopeful stuff," Gary tells Billboard.com,  "I'm usually the sad writer, but I think I was able to step away from that this time."

Gary adds that his life is going really well for him right now saying, "Every album I do is just about where I'm at at the time."

Gary thinks a song called "Tough Goodbye" will be the first single, but he's still talking with his record label about that decision. He's currently on the road with the Country Throwdown tour through July 8.
