Usher had been scheduled to attend the ESPYs on Wednesday night, but he'll sit out of the ESPN awards show following the tragic jet ski accident that's reportedly left his former stepson, Kile Glover, brain dead. That's according to a rep who spoke with E!
The 11-year-old boy's mother is Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Raymond. Kile remains in critical condition at an Atlanta hospital, and his family seeks prayers for him. "We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," Kile's family says in a statement to CNN. "We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."
Previously announced ESPYs performer Nas will be at the show, as expected. The Queens, NY, emcee is getting a hand from Swizz Beatz, who shared a photo of their rehearsal just hours before the show at the Nokia Theater in Manhattan.
