Luke Bryan Talks Using Twitter to Address All-Star National Anthem Situation
Capitol NashvilleLuke Bryan took a little heat in the online world for looking at his hand during a performance of the national anthem at the MLB All-Star game last week. Luke took to Twitter the morning after the performance to admit he wrote a few key words to the anthem on his hand. He also apologized if anyone was offended by his anthem performance.
As for writing a few words on his hand, Luke tells ABC News Radio, "I chose to kind of make sure I didn't mess it up, and I had a lot of fans support me."
The internet chatter about Luke's anthem performance began the night it happened, but he decided to wait until the next morning to address it. Luke's carefully considered response was delivered straight to his fans via Twitter, and being able to talk directly to fans helped him personally put any controversy behind him.
"I got to move on too once I started talking about it on my Twitter...," Luke explains. "So, I think there's good and bad things about Twitter, but when you can talk to your fans and be honest with 'em, I think that's when it's a positive thing."
Luke will be entertaining fans this weekend with shows in Indiana and Wisconsin.
