Questlove, Russell Simmons React to Colorado Movie Theater Shooting

Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images via ABCCelebrities have taken to Twitter to express their sadness after a lone gunman opened fire in an Aurora, CO, movie theater at a midnight showing of the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises, killing at least 12 people and injuring at least 50.

Russell Simmons on Friday remembered those affected by the tragedy, writing that he was "praying for the people of Aurora, Colorado."  Alicia Keys writes, "My heart breaks for the victims, families and community of the Aurora shootings. My thoughts and prayers are with you all…"  Talib Kweli also chimed in, tweeting, "My prayers go out to the families of the victims of the Colorado theater shooting. So sad."

PJ Morton tweeted, "Terrible what happened in Colorado!! Praying for everyone involved..."   Questlove was also moved, writing, "Man. My heart goes out to the families who were effected by that terrorist act in Co."  Referring to news that an infant was wounded in the shooting, he asked, "But why was a 3 month old at a midnight premiere?"  The situation he wrote, "is horrible. horrible."

Waka Flocka Flame tweets, "My condolences and prayers go out to the victims and families in The #theatershooting .#ColdWorld"    Marsha Ambrosius writes, "So sad! 12 killed, 50 injured in Aurora, CO. at movie theater. Bothers me so much because that was easily done. Disturbed!"
