Neil Diamond Donating Money to Fund for Colorado Shooting Victims

Jesse Diamond/NeilDiamond.comNeil Diamond is pitching in to help the victims of the recent movie theater shootings in Aurora, Colorado.  The pop legend announced Thursday via a Twitter message that all the money raised from sales of merchandise at his concert that night in Denver will be donated to GivingFirst.org's Aurora Victim Relief Fund.

Diamond added a follow-up tweet requesting that fans who couldn't make it to the show still consider contributing to the charity.  According to TheDenverChannel.com, nearly $2 million have been raised so far for the Aurora Victim Relief Fund.

Twelve people were killed and dozens more were injured in the early morning of Friday, July 20, when a lone gunman opened fire at an Aurora cinema during a midnight screening of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises.
