Kelly Clarkson Can Finally Offer Boyfriend as Proof She's Not Gay; Suffers Hairline Fracture

Courtesy: Kelly ClarksonFor some reason, Kelly Clarkson's been followed for years by rumors that she's gay.  In the past, she's laughed it off, complaining that it's made it even harder for her to get dates, but in a new interview, she offers her boyfriend as iron-clad proof that the rumors aren't true.

During an interview with Lucky magazine, Kelly makes an offhand joke to someone else about sharing a "lesbian moment." When the magazine asks her about it, she states, "Oh, there’s all these rumors that I’m a lesbian.  I have a boyfriend now, Brandon Blackstock, my manager Narvel’s son, Reba McEntire’s stepson?”

She also shares how she and Brandon spent her 30th birthday in April: "We went turkey shooting.  It’s what I wanted to do, so we went."

In addition, Kelly discusses her down-to-earth image in Lucky.  “The hardest thing about being in this business is just being able to be yourself," she says.  "People act like there’s this one set of rules to follow to be a pop star, and I think, 'Well, you say I’m a pop star, so maybe that’s not true.'” 

Kelly adds that she rejects the full-on glam squad existence that so many stars live, explaining, "I just blow-dry my hair and put on mascara and lip gloss, and I’m ready to go.  I really don’t get long nails. They’re so Edward Scissorhands.”

Kelly says, "Even though I’m a pop singer, I really have more the life of a country singer."  She has a point -- she lives in Nashville, and her only famous friends are The Voice coach Blake Shelton, his wife, country superstar Miranda Lambert, and her boyfriend's stepmom, Reba.

In other Kelly news, she tweeted a picture of herself sitting in a wheelchair, holding crutches and getting her makeup done. She included a note saying, "Sprained my foot and have a hairline fracture but the show must go on people ha!”
