Craig Morgan is back with a new single celebrating the rural lifestyle called "Corn Star." The song pays tribute to the women in the farming community, and Craig tells ABC News Radio, "This is the female version of 'International Harvester.'"
He adds, "It talks about those country girls that we love so much. It's just a little bit of a play on words, which is fun."
Even though most modern country fans have never sat on a tractor or baled hay, Craig has seen his audience connect with songs about the farming way of life over the years.
"You don't have to be a farmer to know what it feels like to drive down the road and have rows and rows of corn right there or the soy bean," Craig explains. "Those smells that you experience, and that's what country music can do."
"Corn Star" is the latest single from Craig's current album, This Ole Boy, available now.
In other Craig news, he's hosting his 6th Annual Charity Weekend in his hometown of Dickson, TN starting Saturday, August 11. Top stars from the world of motocross racing will take part in the exhibition and trail ride on the 11th. Craig's friends Darryl Worley and Robin Meade have signed on to perform at his annual benefit concert later that night. Proceeds go to the Craig Morgan Charity Fund and their efforts to establish Billy's Place, an organization to benefit foster children in Dickson County, TN.
