Kellie Pickler Reveals the Secret to Songwriting

Kristin BarloweKellie Pickler had a hand in writing several songs on her latest album, 100 Proof, but being a songwriter didn't come easy to her at first. Once she began writing from her heart, though, Kellie got the hang of it.

"It's kind of like writing a diary. When you're writing in a diary, you write your most personal, intimate, truthful thoughts," Kellie tells the Merced Sun-Star. "It's between you and your diary. Then you just pull from that and there's your song. Chances are, there are millions of other people going through the same thing."

Kellie will share her songs with a concert crowd in Porterville, CA this Friday.
