Noel Vasquez/Getty ImagesThe kind of music Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez make is worlds apart from that of legendary jam band Phish, but those worlds collided Wednesday night when Justin and Selena attended a show by the revered group.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin and Selena were brought to the concert at California's Long Beach Arena by Justin's musical director, Dan Kanter, a massive Phish fan who's been begging The Bieb for years to check out the band's music.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin, Selena and a group of friends were spotted hanging out near the soundboard at the show during Phish's first set, and then went backstage to meet the band during intermission. They also posed for pictures with various members of the Phish road family. It turns out that Phish's lighting director is also going to work on Justin's upcoming tour.
During the second set, Justin and Selena threw glowsticks, which is a tradition at every Phish show. A witness told THR, "They were having a blast."
No word on whether or not Justin plans to add an extended 20-minute jam version of "Boyfriend" to his tour setlist.
