Kelly Rowland Lands Starring Role in BET Comedy Pilot
Universal MotownKelly Rowland is taking her acting career to the next level. After making cameos on VH1's Single Ladies and popping up in the movie Think Like a Man, Kelly's been tapped to star in a comedy pilot on BET.
That's according to The Hollywood Reporter, which reports that Kelly will take on the role of Dylan, a relationship blogger trying to make her way in Los Angeles. She lives with two roommates, including her best friend Cherise, played by Gabrielle Dennis of The Game, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Her other roomie is Brooke, played by Melanie Liburd of the British television series Strike Back.
Grey's Anatomy actor Brandon Scott will play Dylan's ex-fiancee, who shakes things up when he comes back into the picture, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
If the comedy is picked up, Kelly's show will be added to the BET roster that already includes Reed Between the Lines, The Game and Let's Stay Together, along with new shows Second Generation Wayans and The Real Husbands of Hollywood, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
