Hank Williams Jr. is again drawing attention for his anti-Obama sentiments.
Williams -- who last year was pulled from the opening of ESPN's Monday Night Football after comparing President Barack Obama to Hitler -- again criticized the president Friday night during a performance at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand.
According to the Des Moines Register, Williams followed a performance of “We Don’t Apologize for America” by telling the 85 hundred or so fans in attendance, “We’ve got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the U.S. and we hate him!” The newspaper says the crowd responded with a "loud and enthusiastic" cheer.
Obama is Christian, not Muslim.
A member of the Obama campaign in Iowa tells the Des Moines Register, "That type of absurd nonsense doesn't really deserve a response."
In addition, a rep for the fair says, “The views and opinions of Hank Williams Jr., or any artist performing at the Fair, do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the Iowa State Fair.”
