Neil Diamond Plans "Working Honeymoon" with New Wife

Courtesy of Neil Diamond via TwitterSince launching a major tour at the beginning of June, Neil Diamond has been busy thrilling audiences across America. The trek will wind down on September 1 in Las Vegas, which is when Neil will turn his attention to some unfinished business.  He tells The Los Angeles Times, "I owe my wife a honeymoon."

Neil married his manager, Katie McNeill, in April but the two put the honeymoon on hold until his tour was over.  Unfortunately, it sounds like it won't be much of a romantic trip.  He tells the Los Angeles Times he plans to multi-task and use the time to work on material for a new album.

"I'd like to take my performing hat off for a while and put my writer's hat on," he explains. "[Katie is] OK with me writing on my honeymoon, so I told her we'll just put on our traveling clothes, pack a very small bag and go somewhere."

Diamond's most recent collection of originals was 2010's Dreams, while a deluxe, 40th anniversary edition of his classic live album Hot August Night hit stores in late July.
