Bob Dylan's Collaborations with The Band Showcased in Upcoming DVD

MVD Entertainment GroupAn upcoming DVD chronicles Bob Dylan's long and mutually fruitful relationship with the lauded Americana outfit The BandBob Dylan and The Band: Down in the Flood follows the story of the folk-rock legend's association with the mostly Canadian group initially known as The Hawks, who went on from being his backing band to emerging as prolific and influential artists in their own right.

The documentary includes a focus on the volatile 1966 world tour in which Dylan experienced resistance from many fans over his decision to "go electric."  It also delves into the collaborative recordings now known as The Basement Tapes that he and The Band's members produced in Woodstock, New York, while he recovered from a serious motorcycle accident.

Down in the Flood features includes new conversations with Band keyboardist Garth Hudson, original Hawks frontman Ronnie Hawkins, Dylan touring drummer Mickey Jones and acclaimed Rolling Stone journalist Anthony DeCurtis.  In addition, the flick features rarely seen footage and photos, as well as archival interviews with various musical luminaries.

Bob Dylan and The Band: Down in the Flood will be released on September 25.
