Neil Young & Crazy Horse to Release New Multi-Disc Album, "Psychedelic Pill," in October
Photo: Julie GardnerHot on the heels of their album of traditional cover tunes, Americana, Neil Young & Crazy Horse will release a brand-new studio effort in October. The upcoming album, titled Psychedelic Pill, will be available as a two-CD set and a three-LP vinyl package.
A message on Young's official website reports that Psychedelic Pill was recorded "right after" the sessions that yielded Americana at the same studio, Audio Casa Blanca. It also explains that the album will be a multiple-disc release because of the length of the new songs.
As with Americana, Young & Crazy Horse are preparing videos to accompany all of the tracks featured on Psychedelic Pill. Fans will be able to purchase the forthcoming album and the videos together on a high-fidelity Blu-ray disc and as a digital download.
Young and his longtime backing group have debuted some of the new tunes from Psychedelic Pill, including its title track, at their recent concerts.
Americana was released on June 5.
