Common on His Way to "Sesame Street"

Photo Courtesy of KetchumSesame Street kicks off its 43rd season on September 24, and this year's star-studded list of special guests is out now. 

Common, who's collaborated with Elmo in the past, makes the new Sesame Street roster, joining a list of celebs that includes Halle Berry, Steve Carell and Maya Rudolph.  That's according to Entertainment Weekly, which reports on its website that Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin will also appear, along with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Common's kid-friendly fare doesn't stop with Sesame Street, though.  He'll also appear in the upcoming Disney film The Odd Life of Timothy Green, hitting theaters on August 15.  The movie centers on a 10-year-old boy who sprouts from thin air after a married couple buries all their hopes of having a baby in the backyard.  Common plays the boy's soccer coach.
