Rascal Flatts is out on the road this summer with their Changed tour, which features a brand-new set list and staging for the band. Putting a big show like that together takes a lot of work.
When asked how they put together these big concerts, lead singer Gary LeVox says, "Just a lot of communication. A lot of conversations. A lot of praying that everything that's hanging above us will stay there."
Flatts band member Jay DeMarcus chimes in to talk about how overwhelming it can be to coordinate everything. He says, "You start putting the lights together and seeing how the lights work with the video and how the show flows with the picking of the songs. It's so difficult."
Jay adds that it takes a while to really feel like he's completely comfortable with a new stage show. "Six months into the tour, you've got it so well-oiled and you know what songs take you where and lead you into different phases of the show," Jay explains, "and to try and reinvent that all over again to make sure that it flows seamlessly is really a daunting task."
Rascal Flatts fans can rest assured they've got the new show running very smoothly now. They continue the Changed tour Thursday night in Charlotte, NC.
