Rod Stewart is working on his first new album of original songs in more than 10 years, and he says the material will reflect his own personal experiences as twice-divorced dad.
The British paper The Sun quotes Rod as saying of the new album, "I’ve tackled what I call grown-up problems. There are songs with advice to my kids -- and a song about divorce." He adds, "There are hardly any ballads on it at the moment."
Rod, a father of eight, is currently on his third marriage, to Penny Lancaster, with whom he has two young sons. He also became a grandfather last year when his daughter Kimberly gave birth to daughter Delilah, who's turning one this month.
According to The Sun, the album of new songs -- Rod's first since 2001's Human -- will be out in December. Rod also has a Christmas album coming out this year, which should arrive before that disc.
