Rod Stewart's New Album to Feature Songs About "Grown-Up Problems"

Universal Music GroupRod Stewart is working on his first new album of original songs in more than 10 years, and he says the material will reflect his own personal experiences as twice-divorced dad.

The British paper The Sun quotes Rod as saying of the new album, "I’ve tackled what I call grown-up problems. There are songs with advice to my kids -- and a song about divorce."  He adds, "There are hardly any ballads on it at the moment."

Rod, a father of eight, is currently on his third marriage, to Penny Lancaster, with whom he has two young sons.  He also became a grandfather last year when his daughter Kimberly gave birth to daughter Delilah, who's turning one this month.

According to The Sun, the album of new songs -- Rod's first since 2001's Human -- will be out in December.  Rod also has a Christmas album coming out this year, which should arrive before that disc.
