The Black Eyed Peas are currently on hiatus, but that doesn't mean that Fergie's stopped thinking about music. In fact, she says she has "tons of ideas" for new material and may even relaunch her solo career.
Speaking to MTV, Fergie says, "I've already got notebooks full of ideas for new music, so I'm gonna kind of nurture that just like I do all of my ideas and perfect it until it's ready and then I'll just let it go."
Fergie's last -- and only -- solo album was The Dutchess, which came out back in 2006. It was a huge success, spawning five top five singles, and three #1 hits, including "Big Girls Don't Cry." When asked whether or not this new material might end up on a Dutchess follow-up, the singer was coy, saying, "Yeah, we'll see. Like I said, I have tons of ideas that I'm thrilled about."
Even if she records new music, though, don't expect Fergie to hit the road any time soon for a solo tour. "I don't miss being on the road right now because the thing is, I was on the road for eight years, so I love pizza, but pizza every day for eight years is a different thing," she tells MTV.
Right now, she says what she's involved in -- like her new nail polish line for Wet 'n Wild, her footwear line, her new endorsement deal with Casemate phone accessories -- are "things I can create without having to be on tour running ragged throughout the world." She especially appreciates having what she calls "more of a structure at home" with hubby Josh Duhamel, adding, "It's really rewarding for me."
