A&M/Octone RecordsMaroon 5's smash hit "Payphone" spent six weeks at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, but was never able to close the deal. Their latest single, "One More Night," had better luck. The track has just jumped from #2 to the top of that chart, giving the band the third #1 hit of its career.
Maroon 5's previous chart toppers were "Makes Me Wonder," back in 2007, and "Moves Like Jagger," which was #1 for a month last year.
"One More Night" has replaced Taylor Swift's monster smash "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" at the pinnacle; that song slides to #2. Coincidentally, some people have noted that the male star of Taylor's video -- the guy with whom she is "never ever getting back together" -- kinda looks like Adam Levine.
