Nas, Lauryn Hill Combine Forces for Life Is Good/Black Rage Tour

Island Def Jam/MsLaurynHill.tumblr.comNas and Lauryn Hill have announced that their joint Life Is Good/Black Rage tour is kicking off this fall.  The first show together will happen October 29 in Dallas, with tour tickets going on sale this Friday.  A pre-sale begins this Thursday in select markets.

"This is history," Nas says in a statement about hitting the road with Lauryn.  The pair surprised fans at the Openair Frauenfeld festival in Switzerland back in July when Nas brought out Lauryn for a performance of their 1996 collaboration "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)."

"Better late than never.  Life is good!" Nas says, referring to the title of his latest chart-topping release, which also happens to be one half of the tour name.  As for "Black Rage," that's the title of a new song from Lauryn.  The track will be released this fall, and features Lauryn confronting the effects of racial inequality and abuse.

"As artists we have opportunity to help the public evolve, raise consciousness and awareness, teach, heal, enlighten and inspire in ways the democratic process may not be able to touch.  So we keep it moving," Lauryn says in a statement.

Referring to the tour, she says, "I use the performance platform as an opportunity to express the energy of that moment, and the intention behind it... I've been a long standing rebel against the stale, over commoditization."
