Hockey Wife Carrie Underwood Reaps Benefits of NHL Lockout

Arista NashvilleThe National Hockey League lockout goes on as players and league officials continue negotiations, but the canceled pre-season games have had some perks for hockey wife Carrie Underwood. Her husband Mike Fisher, who plays for the Nashville Predators, was able to surprise her recently by showing up at her concert in Atlanta. That probably wouldn't have happened had he been in the middle of pre-season play.

Carrie tells The Tennessean, "Is it wrong for me to be a little happy [about the lockout]? I mean, 'I'm sorry for you, but it's great for me.'"

Even though he's not playing right now, Mike is still keeping very busy.  "He’s such a disciplined guy that he has to train and make sure he’s ready regardless of what’s going on,” Carrie says. “He’s got so much to do on his end."
