Sure, members of PETA -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals -- are upset that Lady Gaga has been seen wearing fur in public. But that doesn't mean they're going to go all Kim Kardashian on her and start pelting her with nasty things.
A "source" close to PETA told the Chicago Sun-Times earlier this week that Gaga's ongoing insistence on wearing fur had spurred the organization's members to plan attacks on the singer. "I’m hearing they are going to try and personally attack Gaga -- spraying her with paint or even throwing feces at her,” the "source" told the paper.
But in a statement to ABC News Radio, PETA said there is no coordinated effort to hurl excrement at Gaga. "The only threat for Lady Gaga is looking ridiculous, and all she’s being bombarded with is appeals from her fans to get a heart," said a representative for the organization, adding that the reports of those threats sound "like desperate Gaga PR make-believe."
