Psy's "Gangnam Style" Sets YouTube Guinness World Record

Facebook.com/OfficialPsy"Gangnam Style," the super-catchy viral video by South Korean rapper Psy that's also become hit on the charts, has now broken a Guinness World Record.

According to the Guinness folks, the video for "Gangnam Style," which has been online only since July 15, has set the world record for most "likes" on YouTube.  As of Friday morning, the clip has been "liked" well in excess of 2,200,000 times, more than any clip in YouTube history.  The previous record was held by LMFAO's video for "Party Rock Anthem," which had 1,574,963 likes.

The only other two clips approaching that number are Justin Bieber's "Baby," which has 1,327,147 likes, and Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," which has 1,245,641.

In a statement, Dan Barrett, Guinness World Records Community Manager, said, "It's great to be able to award a record for this tremendously popular video. In years past it was unthinkable that something  would be viewed a hundred million times, and now 'Gangnam Style' has achieved more than twice this figure in just three months on YouTube."
