Quincy Jones to Be Honored with Montblanc Culture Award

Facebook.com/QuincyJonesQuincy Jones will be honored with a Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award from luxury accessories maker Montblanc.  The exclusive ceremony to celebrate the esteemed producer's 50-year career in music will take place on October 2 in Los Angeles.

With the honor, Montblanc announces it will donate $20,000 in Jones' name to the Jazz Foundation of America, which provides financial, medical, housing, and legal assistance as well as performance opportunities to jazz and blues musicians.  Jones is a member of the foundation's Honorary Founders Board.  Additionally, Quincy will receive a Montblanc Patron of Art Limited Edition 2012 Joseph II Writing Instrument.

British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and Italian architect Renzo Piano also will receive this year's Patronage award.  Past honorees include Yoko Ono, HRH Charles Prince of Wales, the late author Susan Sontag and others.

Since 1992, the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award has honored outstanding private patrons of the arts for their exceptional contribution to culture worldwide.
