DJ Clue Squashes Rumors of a Fallout with Rihanna
Island Def JamContrary to reports, Rihanna did not go off on a drunken tirade against DJ Clue at Las Vegas nightclub 1 OAK, Clue told ABC News Radio during Jay-Z's NBA 2K13 launch party at the 40/40 Club in New York City.
"Yo, man, that was the worst rumor ever, man. Rih-Rih's my girl," DJ Clue said. A picture on MediaTakeOut shows Rih with a drink in one hand, while she appears to be blurting something out to Clue. But while it might look like Rihanna was about to do some tough-talking to the music veteran, Clue says that she was actually just telling him about her new single, "Diamonds."
"She was like, 'Yo, I want you to play it first. I want to give it to you exclusively.' And she was talking to me about it. And that's what the whole conversation was," Clue says.
There was no hostile confrontation, says Clue, who laughed about the reports. "It was never no kind of fights, or arguing, nothing like that, man," he says.
Clue says that right now, he's focused on Fabolous' new album, which is coming out soon. "Got a couple heavy-hitters on there with him," Clue reveals, before adding that he's also working on his own project.
"Got a new single coming out," Clue says, revealing that the track will feature someone special. "Not gonna say who yet, but it's one of the hottest rappers in the game," Clue says.
