While music stars like John Legend, Alicia Keys and Trey Songz are out stumping for the president, first lady Michelle Obama recently issued something of an endorsement for Obama administration-supporter Elle Varner.
E! Online recently chatted with Mrs. Obama about everything from gay marriage to back-to-school fashion. Then, when the conversation turned to music, Mrs. Obama revealed that her oldest daughter, Malia, has introduced her to the sounds of Elle Varner.
"[Malia] played her new album for me, and I picked out a couple songs," says Mrs. Obama.
Word got back to Elle, who was stoked to get some love from the first family. "Wait wait....did that really just happen!?!?!" Elle tweeted. "I literally prayed for this @MichelleObama thank you so much!! I'm so honored and speechless..."
Elle added that her own mom would "flip" when she heard that Perfectly Imperfect was getting play at the White House. The album, which is Elle's first, was released last month.
