Taylor Swift lost out on an Oscar nomination on Thursday, when her Hunger Games song "Safe and Sound" was overlooked for a Best Original Song nod. But she can console herself with the fact that she's just gotten nominated for a 2013 Brit Award: the British version of The Grammys.
According to the BBC, Taylor is nominated in the Best International Female category, along with Rihanna and Alicia Keys, among others. The Best International Male category, meanwhile, includes Gotye and Michael Buble, among others. The Script and fun. are among the nominees for Best International Group.
Since this is the British Grammys, there are, of course, British acts among the nominees. Adele is up for Best British Single for "Skyfall" -- that's her second award nomination of the day, having gotten an Oscar nod for the same song earlier. Jessie J is nominated for "Domino" in the same category, as is Alex Clare for "Too Close."
One Direction is up for Best British Group, but they were not included in the Best British Album category. The late Amy Winehouse is up for Best British Female, thanks to her posthumous album Lioness. Calvin Harris is up for Best British Male, as is One Direction's opening act, Olly Murs. Olly's also nominated in the Best British Single category for his song "Troublemaker," which features Flo Rida.
The Brit Awards will be handed out February 20 at London's O2 arena.
