Condolences to country singer Mindy McCready on the loss of her life partner David Wilson, a songwriter and producer. According to McCready's camp, Wilson died at age 34 on Sunday.
The New York Daily News is reporting that Wilson apparently shot himself to death in his Arkansas home.
McCready said in a statement, "He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father. David loved and he was loved. Those who knew and loved him will miss him; those who did not know David missed the opportunity to know a truly loving and gifted man."
McCready and Wilson welcomed their son Zayne last April. McCready has a son, Zander, from her previous relationship with singer/songwriter Billy McKnight.
McCready made headlines in 2011 when she took her son Zander from her parents, who were his legal guardians, and fled with the boy to Wilson's Arkansas home. McCready has also dealt with substance abuse issues in the past which subsequently led to legal troubles.
Mindy McCready scored a #1 country hit in 1996 with "Guys Do It All the Time." Her top 10 hits include "Ten Thousand Angels" and "A Girl's Gotta Do (What a Girl's Gotta Do)."
