Members of the hip-hop community made their voices heard during the 2012 election season, and to celebrate their impact, the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network will host the Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball II. Marsha Ambrosius and Meek Mill will perform during the black-tie gala, chaired by Russell Simmons.
The event is taking place Sunday night at the Harman Center for the Arts in Washington D.C. The evening's special guests include Lifetime Achievement honoree MC Lyte who will be presented with a special tribute performance from Yo-Yo, Smooth and Lil Mama. Doug E. Fresh also will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement award.
The Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball II boasts a pretty stellar guest list, including Brandy, 2 Chainz, John Legend, Swizz Beatz, Pharrell Williams, Jadakiss, Tank, 9th Wonder and Raheem DeVaughn.
DJ D-Nice and DJ Lil Mic will handle the music for the charity event. Tickets are available online, and the gala is open to the public.
