The Allman Brothers Band has revealed the lineup for the 2013 edition of its Wanee Music Festival, which is scheduled to take place April 18, 19 and 20 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida. The Allmans will perform on two nights, April 19 and 20, as will veteran jam band Widespread Panic.
Among the other acts on this year's Wanee bill are Hot Tuna, playing in its electric configuration, as well as Leon Russell, Tower of Power and legendary James Brown sax player Maceo Parker. In addition, side projects of several Allman Brothers Band members will perform, including Gov't Mule, the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Jaimoe's Jasssz Band.
The festival also will feature the return of the traveling edition of Jorma Kaukonen's Fur Peace Ranch, which made its debut at Wanee last year. The program was created by the Hot Tuna frontman/ex-Jefferson Airplane guitarist to offer a variety of music instruction and performance workshops.
Tickets for the ninth annual Wanee fest go on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. ET. General admission passes cost $195 plus fees, and include three nights of camping on the park grounds.
