Jon Bon Jovi Says Daughter's "Healthy" & "Getting Through It" After Overdose
PR NewswireFans were shocked last year when Jon Bon Jovi's eldest daughter, Stephanie, ended up in the hospital after overdosing on heroin in her college dorm room. Now, two months later, the singer says the 19-year-old is doing well, and that he hopes the incident ends up being a learning experience.
Speaking to the British publication Metro, Jon said of Stephanie, "She's good. She's getting through it," and added, "Children don't come with a manual. Every day is a learning experience and things happen. She's healthy. The greatest gift that I have is that I have her."
He added, "We'll get through this. It was a shock for everybody and hopefully we learn from these life lessons."
When asked how Stephanie got the drug in the first place, Bon Jovi told Metro, "It wasn't what you see in the movies," referring to those who inject heroin intravenously. He added, "It's a pill form that these kids have access to. It was the first and hopefully the last time."
