Gary Allan's Got Plenty to Say on "Set You Free", Due Out January 22

MCA NashvilleGary Allan's new album, Set You Free, features quite a few songs Gary penned himself. Fans will get a good feel for where Gary's at in his life right now on songs like his latest single, "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)," which is included on the album.

"I think every album that I’ve made is a stamp on where I was at that moment in time, and this one, definitely no different," Gary says, "I’m in a good place. I think with all the travel and all that stuff gives you the tools to write stuff like that."

Gary's lived a lot of life since releasing his debut album in the mid-'90s. When he first got to Nashville, he got the chance to write with the late Harlan Howard, the man responsible for country classics like "I Fall to Pieces" and "Heartaches by the Number." They had a great time together, and Harlan told Gary he could definitely write songs. There was just one thing missing at that point.

Gary quotes Harlan as saying, "'Your problem is you ain’t got nothin’ to say.' He goes, 'You haven’t lived long enough. You haven’t been through…you need to get divorced a few times.'"

Gary's lived quite a few lifetimes since then, and you can catch up with the latest in his life on Set You Free, due out January 22.
