Brantley Gilbert is currently working on his next studio album, and he's got the list of possible songs that might make the cut down from 250 to 35.
Brantley tells Billboard, "We're definitely excited to get in there and play some new songs. We've been playing the same ones for quite awhile now. We love 'em, but it's time for something new."
While some artists look to outside writers to pen their songs, Brantley won't consider cutting any song he didn't write himself.
He explains, "It's got to be about me. That's the only way I can get that expression, that kind of passion you need for a song. Otherwise I don't feel like it's real."
Brantley is now climbing the country chart with his latest single, "More than Miles," from his current album Halfway to Heaven.
