Eddie Van Halen has filed a lawsuit against a contractor whose alleged shoddy work cost the Van Halen guitarist more than one million dollars to fix, according to TMZ.
In the lawsuit, which was filed Monday by the guitarist's family trust, the rocker claims he hired Troy Builders Group in 2008 for a remodeling project at his Los Angeles home. Van Halen claims shoddy workmanship, including poorly-installed gutters and a leaky roof and chimney, allowed water to enter the home and cause damage. Van Halen alleges the home also suffered mold damage both on wood surfaces and also inside an elevator shaft.
According to court documents, Van Halen has spent more than a million dollars to repair the damage and he's suing the contractor for those costs, plus interest.
