In addition to topping the charts and playing to sold-out audiences everywhere, Pink is now a movie star: she's gotten great reviews for her turn as a sex addict named Dede in the new movie Thanks for Sharing. The role was written especially for her, and Pink says the producers didn't have to twist her arm to talk her into accepting it.
Quoted in Britain's Star magazine, Pink explains, "I was extremely pregnant at the time and they brought me a cheesecake, so I said, 'Of course I'll do it!'"
Of course, the singer, who's credited in the film under her birth name, Alecia Moore, was a bit intimidated on set, since she was acting alongside heavy-hitters like Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins. "They're such naturals, and I'm a newbie," she explains. "I just watch. I can go on stage in front of 30,000 people...I can sing the same song, with the same emotion, 48,000 times, and people are like, 'Wow, how does she do that?' But I get on a film set and I don't even remember how to talk!"
Pink's co-stars have praised her acting ability, and she says that it's really not so different from doing a concert. Asked what she wants people to take away from the movie, she says, "It's the same as when I'm on stage: I want the audience to feel every emotion they possibly can," she explains. "I want them to laugh. I want them to cry. I want them to be angry. I want them to be motivated and inspired. I want them to be challenged and freed and lifted up and beaten down. I just want it all from them."
