Katy Perry's new album PRISM is due on Tuesday, and the deluxe version of the disc comes with something that's sure to grow on you. Part of the packaging involves actual seeds, which you can plant.
The first 300,000 copies of PRISM's deluxe edition will arrive in iridescent packaging, and will include what's described as "special PRISM seed paper." "Plant the PRISM and spread the light," reads a note on Katy's website.
"Seed paper" is a kind of handmade paper that includes actual plant seeds woven into it. When you plant the paper in soil, the seeds will germinate and grow. It's not clear what type of seeds these are, so it'll be a surprise. A note on Amazon.com states that you can be sure to get the limited-edition packaging if you pre-order PRISM before 11:59 p.m. on Monday.
In addition to the fancy packaging, the deluxe version of PRISM includes three extra tracks: "Spiritual," "It Takes Two" and "Choose Your Battles." "Spiritual" was co-written by Katy's boyfriend John Mayer; "It Takes Two" was co-written by Emeli Sandé.
