Carlos Santana will salute the music heritage of his Latin roots on a new album titled Corazón that's due out early next year. The collection will see the Mexican-born guitar legend and his band teaming up with a variety of musicians, including Gloria Estefan, Miguel, award-winning Colombian rockers Juanes, Carlos' son Salvador Santana and many more.
In conjunction with the upcoming album, Santana will travel to his home country for a special concert on December 14 at the Vincente Fernandez Arena in Guadalajara that also will feature performances by the many of his aforementioned Corazón collaborators.
Other musical luminaries that will lend their talents to Corazón include Ziggy Marley, Pitbull and Mexican-American singer/actress Lila Downs. Carlos is executive producer of the project along with his longtime mentor, music mogul Clive Davis, as well as with Afo Verde, CEO of Sony's Latin Region. Carlos currently is working on the album in Las Vegas with producer Lester Mendez.
Corazón not only will feature Santana paying tribute to his Latin roots, but also will acknowledge the influence his own music has had on other artists. Among the styles represented on the record are rock, pop, hip-hop, folk, salsa, reggae and bachata.
