Patti LaBelle to Be Honored at 2013 "Black Girls Rock!" Special

PattisButterflies.comPatti LaBelle is among the stars scheduled to take the stage during this year's edition of BET's annual Black Girls Rock! special, which will air next month.  LaBelle will receive the Living Legend Award at the event, which will be taped this Saturday at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Hip-hop legend Queen Latifah also will be among the gala's honorees, and will be recognized with the Rock Star Award.  Presenters for the show include Nia Long, Tatyana Ali, La La Anthony and Marsha Ambrosius.

In addition, Black Girls Rock! will include performances from Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland, Ledisi, Janelle Monae and others.  The ceremony is designed to celebrate women of color and recognize their accomplishments in their careers and community service.

Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, Black Girls Rock! premieres on BET on Sunday, November 3, at 7 p.m. ET.
