Taylor Swift and Jon Bon Jovi are music royalty, but they'll be performing for some real royalty next month in London. The two acts are providing the entertainment at a charity event to be held at Kensington Palace, home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. You know them better as Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.
According to the RoyalCentral website, the November 26 event, called the Winter Whites Gala, will be the first event that the new parents are hosting together in the palace. It benefits Centrepoint, a charity that helps homeless youth. Prince William has been a patron of the charity since 2005. In fact, in December of 2009, the prince slept on the street with the CEO of Centrepoint in freezing temperatures to gain a deeper understanding of the problems of the homeless.
The charity's website says that the event is limited to just 200 people, and tickets are 500 pounds -- just over 800 bucks -- apiece. The black tie gala will include music from Jon and Taylor, as well as an "exceptional buffet," an auction hosted by one of the celebrity guests, speeches and awards.
"What better way to support Centrepoint’s mission to end youth homelessness and build a brighter future for homeless young people?" asks the website. "We are delighted to be able to offer this rare opportunity to visit Kensington Palace, the home of HRH The Duke of Cambridge."
